From the outside it looked closed and a bit basic but, but, but the food was amazing. If you want food that tastes like it's been cooked by a Sri Lanka grandma, this is it. The parathas were phenomenal, perhaps the best I've had. The curry was intense and rich in flavour. It wasn't the watered down (for Australian audiences) version that I thought we'd get. If you want authenticity this is your place.
We had such a wonderful experience here. We were warmly welcomed by the owner who explained all the items on the menu for us as it was our first visit. My goodness, the food was so delicious! I had the rice with 5 curry dish and everything on the plate was fabulous and so flavourful. The beef was exceptionally tender and juicy. The serving was very generous, and I had enough left over to take home for dinner! All meals are cooked to order using fresh ingredients and you can really taste the love and care that has been put into the meals ๐ค
This spot felt more like a friend's home than a restaurant. Delicious, well-balanced home-style food (even the ginger tea was subtly perfect). Just one person was working when we visited, so be prepared for a wait if it's busy.
Absolutely love this place the food is delicious. I am a regular customer. The flavours are so authentic and thereโs so much love put into the food and the service is so welcoming. Itโs all home-made from scratch. I always recommend people to go here especially if you want really authentic Sri Lankan food. Thereโs a beautiful lady in the kitchen that cooks everything from scratch, including making her own spices everything is done by hand and she also greets you and takes your orders sheโs so welcoming and sheโs the sweetest ,precious most beautiful soul ever. And her son helps out after school sometimes / on weekends and he is the most polite well mannered gentlemen that will help take orders and serve food. And itโs honestly not that expensive price wise considering everything is made from scratch and really authentic. Highly recommend. By the way I had the coconut fish curry which is in this photo and I also had some curry puffs and some samosas with some plain rice. And traditional Sri Lankan tea it was all delicious and perfect on a winter night. PS, my brothers love this place as well and they have come a few times too.
This place has amazing dishes (full of flavour and just like the food you find in Sri Lanka) and a beautiful family vibe. I ate here with my cousin a few weeks ago and brought my wife back tonight. She LOVED it as much as I do. We had the lamb curry, eggplant salad, chicken kottu and some saffron rice. Rich, spicy and fabulous! And at less than $30/head we will be coming back soon!
